Presentation: Guerrilla Storytime in Spanish
Presented by: Diana Lara, Elizabeth Rosas and Pat Toney
Presentation date: April 3, 2015
Document: Childrens Songs in Spanish
Guerrilla Storytime is an informal gathering of children's librarians that will share, demonstrate, and support each other in the various aspects of presenting a Bilingual and/or Spanish storytime. The challenges can range from audience management, incorporating Every Child Ready to Read (ECRR) parent tips into storytime, transitions between activities, and actual activities. These sessions also serve as a springing board for discussing advocacy for children's services. These Guerrilla Storytime breakout sessions have occurred at other library conferences and it would be beneficial to have one at the REFORMA conference that solely focuses on Bilingual and/or Spanish Storytimes.
